Privacy Policy — AU Bracket Racing

This policy explains what information the AU Bracket Racing app ("the app") collects, how it is used, and your choices. The app is operated by [Stephan Gouws] ("we", "us").

What we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password. These are used solely to sign you in and to keep your data linked to your account.

Racing data you enter. The app stores the information you save while using it: your car setup (car name, type, fuel, induction, aspiration), your baseline run details, saved runs (predicted and actual times, optional notes), and your selected track. This data exists so the app can make predictions and improve them from your run history.

Weather data. When you refresh weather for a track, the app requests current conditions from Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) using the fixed coordinates of the selected race track. The app never accesses or transmits your device's location. Retrieved weather values are stored with your account so predictions can use them.

What we do not collect

The app does not collect your device location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers. It contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone for marketing purposes.

Where your data is stored

Account credentials and your racing data are stored using Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore), which processes data on our behalf under Google's security and privacy commitments. Data may be stored on servers located outside Australia.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app schedules local notifications on your device when your suggested dial-in changes. These are generated on your device; no notification content is sent to us or any third party.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account exists. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app (Car Setup → Account → Delete account). Deletion removes your saved runs, baseline, car setup, weather snapshots, and your login credentials, and cannot be undone. You may also request deletion by contacting us at the address below.

Children

The app is a motorsport utility intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond the account email required to use it. Junior racers should use the app with a parent's or guardian's involvement.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
